How We Test

Every verdict on LYS follows the same discipline. We buy or source the product, live with it for at least four weeks, and score it against the criteria that actually matter at its price point: build, feel, results and whether it earns its place in a considered routine.

The score. Our 0–10 editor score is independent of price — a £50 product can outscore a £300 one. Value is rated separately, so you can see both how good something is and whether it is worth it.

The money. LYS is reader-supported. When you buy through our links we may earn an affiliate commission from the retailer. Commission never influences a verdict, a score, or what we choose to cover — several of our highest-rated products earn us nothing.

The line we hold. No sponsored scores. No pay-for-placement. No recommending what we would not buy ourselves.
